Summer English Class Registration
Alexandria, Virginia
As we approach the recently arrived Afghan refugees' first summer in the United States
Global Shout is using this period not for a break, but as an opportunity to push our beneficiaries’ lives forward with in-person summer English classes through our partnership with the Literary Council of Northern Virginia. Expanding on our custom made English class in February near the homes of many of the Afghans in Van Dorn, Alexandria, we will now be supporting nearly 100 refugees in 8 different classes throughout the Northern Virginia metropolitan area as they improve their English language skills. We will be fully funding all of our Afghan friends’ classes and will continue their education beyond these summer classes into the fall as they steadily improve before heading to either their future jobs or higher education at local colleges. Our team at Global Shout believes that education is the key to success for all humans and serves as the greatest equalizer on the path to self-sufficiency. With this in mind, we wish all of the Afghans good luck and cannot wait to discuss in English in a few months!

About Us
Global Shout is a U.S. based 501(c)3 tax-exempt (EIN#: 85-2382286) non-profit organization originally founded by students at Georgetown University in 2005 as Global S.H.O.U.T. (Students Helping Orphans in Underprivileged Territories). After an early focus strictly on the education and care of orphaned children in third world nations, the organization underwent a gradual shift in scope of humanitarian work, expanding beyond the university and dropping the acronym, with a full rebranding in 2019-20, now operating projects internationally of varying type and purpose.
