Eid al Fitr
Sun, May 1, 2022
3:00 PM – 9:00 PM EDT
Come join the team at Global Shout and some of the nearly 1000+ Afghan refugees and their 250 families that we are currently helping settle in Northern Virginia for a day of prayer, celebration, joy, and gift giving as the holy month of Ramadan comes to a close and the merry holiday of Eid al Fitr begins. Iftar will be provided at sundown and Eid gifts for children will be aplenty. We will have games, sports, henna and face painting, and social service resources available for our many beneficiaries. We are also excited to announce our partnership with McDonald’s Corp and some of their local subsidiaries who will be present all day to give jobs to Afghans on the spot! We are on a mission to prevent food and housing insecurity for our new friends and neighbors now that their rent money from the government has run out and they are at risk of eviction if they do not receive jobs soon. In the spirit of Eid and giving, we will do everything in our power to prevent that from happening! Eid Mubarak everyone!

About Us
Global Shout is a U.S. based 501(c)3 tax-exempt (EIN#: 85-2382286) non-profit organization originally founded by students at Georgetown University in 2005 as Global S.H.O.U.T. (Students Helping Orphans in Underprivileged Territories). After an early focus strictly on the education and care of orphaned children in third world nations, the organization underwent a gradual shift in scope of humanitarian work, expanding beyond the university and dropping the acronym, with a full rebranding in 2019-20, now operating projects internationally of varying type and purpose.
