Global Shout was able to raise over $14,000 at our Afghan Cultural Night fundraise
Buoyed by a matching donation from one of our generous philanthropists John Atkinson, Global Shout was able to raise over $14,000 at our Afghan Cultural Night fundraiser event at Bamian Restaurant on February 12th, 2022. While respecting COVID precautions and limiting attendance through social distance, we were still able to pack the house and enjoy an amazing night filled with mingling between refugees and volunteers, who were able to enjoy delicious Afghan food and traditional Afghan music with Qais Essar. Refugees were also supplied with handouts of social services resources and connected with local community members to assist with job search and visa status paperwork. With all the stress that our beneficiaries have gone through over the past few months since leaving their homeland, it was our honor and joy to provide them an experience that brought them a taste of home and a sense of normalcy in a new land.

About Us
Global Shout is a U.S. based 501(c)3 tax-exempt (EIN#: 85-2382286) non-profit organization originally founded by students at Georgetown University in 2005 as Global S.H.O.U.T. (Students Helping Orphans in Underprivileged Territories). After an early focus strictly on the education and care of orphaned children in third world nations, the organization underwent a gradual shift in scope of humanitarian work, expanding beyond the university and dropping the acronym, with a full rebranding in 2019-20, now operating projects internationally of varying type and purpose.
