Families Move In Day

Arlington, Virginia

Helping two families of Afghan doctors move in to their new homes

Our volunteers came together on Saturday, December 4th to help two families of Afghan doctors move in to their new homes with your generous donations of furniture, kitchen goods, beds, and all other miscellaneous needs. It was a tough day filled with many stops and a lot of heavy lifting, but we were able to get everything to their destinations with time to spare for some bonding time with the new citizens of Virginia. We will continue to help them settle in with needs such as finding and starting new jobs, beginning English classes, registering children for school, obtaining drivers licenses, and many more routine but necessary steps of starting their new lives. Stay tuned for more updates on how to get involved and help contribute to our new friends lives and provide resilience through community.

About Us

Global Shout is a U.S. based 501(c)3 tax-exempt (EIN#: 85-2382286) non-profit organization originally founded by students at Georgetown University in 2005 as Global S.H.O.U.T. (Students Helping Orphans in Underprivileged Territories). After an early focus strictly on the education and care of orphaned children in third world nations, the organization underwent a gradual shift in scope of humanitarian work, expanding beyond the university and dropping the acronym, with a full rebranding in 2019-20, now operating projects internationally of varying type and purpose.
