Refugee Family Visited by Senator Tammy Duckworth
Arlington, Virginia
Senator Tammy Duckworth's visit
We are proud to have been visited by Senator Tammy Duckworth from Illinois to help settle one of our new families into their apartment in early December 2021. Her purchases and donations of multiple beds, furniture, and home goods, provided our family of three the boost they needed to get their lives started, and now shift their focus to other needs such as jobs, English class, licenses, etc. Moving in to their new homes is just the first step in a long journey for the over hundred thousand Afghans suddenly removed from their nation due to circumstances beyond their control. But with the hearts of gracious citizens like Senator Duckworth and all of our other volunteers, we are confident that they will rise again stronger than ever.

About Us
Global Shout is a U.S. based 501(c)3 tax-exempt (EIN#: 85-2382286) non-profit organization originally founded by students at Georgetown University in 2005 as Global S.H.O.U.T. (Students Helping Orphans in Underprivileged Territories). After an early focus strictly on the education and care of orphaned children in third world nations, the organization underwent a gradual shift in scope of humanitarian work, expanding beyond the university and dropping the acronym, with a full rebranding in 2019-20, now operating projects internationally of varying type and purpose.
